"By the way, Monday evening a gang of 7 or 8 youths tried to rob my son. He did what I trained him to do and got into the street and stopped cars and vans and made a right row - he got a few small cuts and bruises, didn't get robbed and is shook up but ok which is a bloody good result considering he had a Stanley knife and flick knife to contend with as well as people trying to punch and kick him! Take some credit, I passed on to him the stuff I learned from you in the Legion. The boy has good reflexes cos when I trained with him I really used to lay it on."

"Just wanted to let you know your advice re the bug in bags worked. We were on our honeymoon in Scotland and we were driving along, went to pull over to take a photo of the Castle, BAM!!! ran over a stump, blew the tire, and broke the tie rod..stuck..had to hoof it back towards a hotel..

luckily for us, no drama...but things could have been worse...we made some calls, got towed, to Perth..made another call and got a new car, just arrived back at the Kenmore Club, in the dark, with rain...

The moral of the story is be a good Boy Scout and prepared..If we had too, we could have bivouacked and made it thru the night with the stuff we had in our bags, had we not, it would have been a miserable night...

Thanks for keeping it real.... "

"I saw the recent article in "Razor" and wish they had asked for some student input. I've enjoyed the training a lot even though it has been the toughest thing I've done in years. Since starting two months ago, I've lost 13 lbs. and have been challenged to step up my training and conditioning outside of class. Too often we are left wondering whether we're making a difference or not. Rest assured that you are making a difference and that it is appreciated. Just thought I'd chime and let you know."

"The FIST seminar taught extremely realistic moves for all practical scenarios. It took training to another level. Nick's program is no f**king joke! I'm looking forward to the next seminar."

Steve

"I have been jumped before by 4 guys. This is the only information that has come close to addressing that situation. The seminar covered practical lessons for surviving."

"I'm a Krav Maga instructor and a ju-jutsu student under Renzo Gracie. I have also worked for seven years as a nightclub security manager. The training I received at the seminar was very practical and I enjoyed it immensely."

"The breakdown of each technique was excellent; the quality of the techniques....priceless!"

"I am a 42 year old male that has never had any martial arts training, or self defense training of any kind, I have lifted weights at different levels thru the years and tried to stay in ok shape, or so I thought. I have been involved with FIST now for about six months, I no longer have to spend boring time on treadmills or other cardio equipment, my fitness level has improved to the best it has ever been and my body fat has been just falling off, not to mention the great self defense skills that I have learned.

The instructors are awesome and there wealth of knowledge is impressive, not just this is how it is done, but why, what leads up to, what to look for before it happens and how to be ready when it happens, when the conflict comes. This class is a must for anyone looking for the confidence and skills it takes to protect your family and to keep your self from becoming a victim, or just another one of the many sheep in today's increasingly violent world. I should say that I now see the world around me in a much different light and notice way more around me than I used to, I know that I am a better man because of the class! These guys are not held back by in the box thinking and rules, this is out of the box real world training, that works if you are a 95 pound female or a 280 pound strong man.

Thanks guys, keep up the good work"

"The training in FIST is very realistic and well rounded."

"The FightSurvival boot camp was a great experience. The training was both challenging and rewarding. Nick Hughes teaches practical 'real world' self defense techniques that can be used during dangerous, no holds barred street attacks. I feel that FightSurvival is the most comprehensive and effective training available.

The training and learned concepts sharpened my skills to the point that I feel confident that I can defend myself and protect my family even if faced with multiple attackers."

"Before attending Nick's spring FIST boot camp, I wondered if someone would drag me out of my room and beat me up in the middle of the night. Nothing of the sort happened. Nick and his staff are always professional and continue to take time out to show me special techniques that apply to my life. In addition to the work we did on the beach, we also trained in a great indoor facility. When I got home and looked over my FIST notebook, I could see that I had been exposed to nearly every level of the curriculum. What a great weekend!"

"I have found FIST to be a no nonsense, realistic, practical self defense system, in addition to being a good work out. At middle age I wasn't looking for trophys or tournaments, but a realistic self defense program which would show me how to protect myself and my family. My contention is that this can best be learned from someone who, as they say, 'has been there'. After all you wouldn't go to learn tennis from someone who has never swung a racquet. Nick Hughes extensive hands on experience as a bouncer and a military policeman qualify him immeasurably to teach this kind of system. In addition to the teaching of physical skills, I always enjoy his dissertations on the psychological aspects of fighting and confrontations based on his actual experiences and have found this aspect of the training to of great value as well. Whether you are a beginner or already have a belt in some other martial art but are looking for streetwise self defense training you owe it to yourself to look at FIST. The class isn't always easy but very little worth while is. Come and observe a F.I.S.T. class before you make a decision. Talk with some of the students. Chances are you'll wind up joining."

"An excellent way to learn techniques and methods to defend yourself in any situation and give you an advantage in today's dangerous world. You don't need to have any martial arts experience to be effective. The rationale and explanations are very down-to-earth and common sense which makes it easier to absorb and utilize. Applying and practicing real world scenarios is the best teaching tool you can imagine. If you have a busy schedule, you dont need to commit all of your free time to become proficent. On top of everything, you'll get some of the best workouts possible and walk away after each class with useful new knowledge and tools."
